The new Angolan Criminal Code and Criminal Procedure Code enter into force today. These new statutes repeal the nineteenth century Criminal Code (1886) and the early twentieth century Criminal Procedure Code (1929).
This is an historic moment. Angola has now two update pieces of legislation addressing contemporary issues (e.g., IT, data, environment, payments in cash, corruption, insolvency), while complying with human rights requirements.
